Removal of Eucalyptus Tree on Eden #7

Dear Members,

Sadly, the courses team have had to urgently remove the eucalyptus tree located behind the fairway bunker on the seventh hole of the Eden Course in the interests of player safety.

The tree, which was a formidable strategic hazard for players of all ability, had died and there was a very real danger of falling limbs. The tree is believed to have died following a lightning strike in the summer.

We are exploring our options in terms of replacing the tree, although the earliest this could happen would be next spring. In the meantime, we will be reviewing statistics as to how the hole plays without a tree in this location.
